Céline Equestrian Motif Clip Earrings Made in Italy Circa late 1980s–early 1990s

A refined pair of vintage Céline clip earrings built around the house’s enduring equestrian vocabulary. Each earring centers on a sculptural horsebit rendered in pavé rhinestones, set within an open gold tone field and framed by a bold curb chain border with a twisted rope inner halo.

The layered construction creates four distinct visual planes. Chain border, rope halo, open ground, and pavé center are compressed into a form that sits flat against the ear while retaining unusual architectural depth for a button earring.

The design reflects the values established during the Céline Vipiana era. Precision, restraint, and quiet craftsmanship rather than overt display. The horsebit appears across Céline accessories from the 1960s onward, referencing the house’s longstanding dialogue with French equestrian culture.

Produced in Italy during the late Vipiana period, prior to LVMH’s acquisition of the house in 1996.

Signed CELINE / MADE IN ITALY on the reverse. Clip closure.

Very good vintage condition with minor oxidation in the pavé settings consistent with age.
