Givenchy Marquise Link Collar Necklace, Circa 1980s–1990s
A sculptural collar necklace composed of marquise-shaped links in matte gold-tone metal, arranged in two staggered rows so the surface reads as a continuous braid across the collarbone.
Each link is slightly domed, allowing the piece to catch light through form rather than reflection. The satin finish softens the surface, giving the collar a quiet glow instead of the high-polish shine typical of runway jewelry from the period.
The links widen gradually from the back of the neck toward the center front. This subtle graduation allows the collar to follow the curve of the body and lie flat against the skin, engineered with the same attention to proportion found in couture tailoring.
Produced by Givenchy in the late years of Hubert de Givenchy’s tenure, when jewelry was designed as structural punctuation for clothing rather than decorative ornament.
Signed with the Givenchy four-G monogram tag at the clasp and GIVENCHY © stamp on the extension tag.
Very good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age.
